Cassandra Stavrou.

Cassandra Stavrou MBE is the founder of PROPER Snacks, the maker of PROPERCORN and PROPERCHIPS.

Spearheading the UK healthy snacking boom, Cassandra built PROPER Snacks into Europe’s largest independent healthier snacking company. It was one of the first food brands to recognise the true value of community and culture, developing a much envied 'cult-like' audience along the way. It also became the first ever B Corp snacks company. Cassandra sold PROPER as part of a major deal to form one of Europe’s largest companies of its kind, WARP Snacks, creating a new challenger to the established market giants, with over £100m in sales. She navigated and completed the deal during Brexit and COVID-19 (not to mention while pregnant).

With her fresh and direct take on the entrepreneurial story, Cassandra recounts the life events that inspired her to follow and fulfil her dreams, and the strategies she employed to beat the big guns, with nothing but determination (and a cement mixer) at the outset. She details the stories behind PROPER’s headline grabbing marketing events and her innovative approach to work culture. In 2020 she was awarded an MBE for services to the food industry.
